Frequently Asked questions

How much is this going to cost me? There is cost or charge to send a message through iTxt.ca. The recipient may be charged, depending on their wireless plan. Some companies also charge extra for "email to sms" services - which is what iTxt.ca uses to send text messages.

How do I know who sent the Text Message to me? There is no way to know. Most wireless providers only provide the message, sometimes with a generic, random or sequential number as the sender. iTxt.ca doesn't ask the sender to enter who they are to our site, but does request that the sender put their name in the text message, so you know who they are.

I'm getting spam on my phone now. What are you doing to me? The spam messages are not sent by iTxt.ca, nor do we provide information on recipients to anyone else. Just read our Privacy Policy. Messages sent through iTxt.ca must be sent by a real person. We are workign on a block your number system, and should you register with that, you will never receive a text message from us ever, from anyone. Any spam message you receive will be coming from someone that already had your number.

I'm receiving obscene messages! Sorry, there is nothing we can do about these types of messages that wasn't already mentioned in the "Spam" FAQ above.

My Provider Isn't Listed. Tell us who your provider is, and we'll get right on it. If it didn't work, please give us as much detail as possible as to the phone number, provider and content of the message, and we'll look into it for you.

What is this all about? Why are you doing this? Well, just read our information page.

Is providing or using this service legal? As long as you are using it for ethical purposes, and we strive to keep all contacts through our site legitimate, then yes, our service is legal. As legal as sending a text message is, or can be. And it cost us a lot of money to have our lawyer tell us this.

Are these the only FAQs you get? I have so many more questions! Let us know what you want to know. We'll contact you directly, and if it is asked enough times, or deemed to be a good question, we'll add it here.
